It has a subwoofer base crossover, so you can use it to configure your subwoofer system instead of relying on what's integrated into the amplifier or head unit. Like many half-DIN devices, it has an additional input for another source of music.
The device is set in such a way that when enabled, it will restore a clean base to whatever you set it from at least 30 hz. In normal mode, it will play this tone in seconds, but it can be played as long as you hold the button pressed.
This button can be the one on the front of the device, or through the red button wired on a nice long wire (3M) with which each device is supplied.
